Pumpkin Patch 2009

We had a wonderful visit to the pumpkin patch the week before Halloween. It was COLD and windy that day! Madelyn had a great time!

She loved posing with the Backyardigans!

The Care Bears . . . her favorite!!

More Care Bears!

She loves Clifford!

Mason had to stay in the stroller because it was so cold and windy. He was very interested in everything around him.

She climbed on the big hay bale and was so proud of herself!

Ice Skating

Madelyn got to go ice skating for the first time recently. She loved it!

Getting her skates all laced up by Mommy.

"Wow, standing on ice skates is harder than it looks!"

Madelyn and Mommy skated for over an hour without falling!

Going out on her own!

SO proud of herself!!

Our little ice princess!

Balloon Festival

We enjoyed the Plano Balloon Festival for the first time recently! We were in place to see the huge hot air balloons inflated by 7am on a beautiful Saturday morning. It was such a pretty sight to see approximately 25 hot air balloons all around us. You can see from the pictures that Madelyn was VERY excited!

Labor Day in Hot Springs

We had a wonderful visit to Hot Springs for the Labor Day weekend. It was fun spending time with Grammy, Papaw, Uncle Matt, Aunt Nori, and little Emma.

Madelyn was surprised with a Care Bears birthday cake from Grammy and Papaw. She got to celebrate her birthday again since they weren't at her party in Texas. She loved having an extra birthday celebration!!

She got to play miniature golf for the first time. Here's an action shot!

A sweet pose while golfing.

Madelyn LOVES cousin Emma! She was so happy to see her.

Right after we arrived at the lakehouse she rushed outside to see the swimming pool. She tested the water and decided it was perfect for a swim!

Enjoying a relaxing afternoon at the lake!

Uncle Matt with the little ones - Mason, Emma, and Madelyn.

A sweet hug between Papaw and Madelyn.

She could hardly wait to try her hand at fishing. She was super patient and tried for an hour, but they didn't catch anything. Oh well, we'll try again next time!

Are these the cutest little Razorbacks you've ever seen?!

They were ready for game day!

Sharing a private conversation . . .

SO sweet!

Papaw and his little cuties.

Everyone proudly wore their Razorback attire. Go Hogs!

Madelyn Goes to the Circus

A couple of weekends ago Madelyn and Daddy went to the circus! It was an afternoon of fun and excitement!

Her favorite part was getting to go down on the circus floor before the show started. She hated to go up to the seats when it was time for all the children to leave the floor.

An upclose view of one of the big elephants. They were so close to him!

6 Month Check-up

After a long break, I'm finally back to updating the blog! Sorry for the long absence!

Mason had his 6 month check-up a couple of weeks late, so he was actually 6 1/2 months old when we were there. He weighed 17 lbs. 2 oz., which was in the 50th percentile. He had just learned to sit on his own, so he felt very big!!

This happy guy didn't even cry when getting his shot.

He measured 27 1/2" long, which was the 80th percentile. We are so happy that he's a healthy, growing boy!

Mason is 6 Months Old!

Our favorite boy is now a big 6 month old! We cannot believe that he is halfway to being 1 year old. He is such a good, easygoing baby. He is a great sleeper! He takes three to four good naps a day then goes down for bedtime around 7:30 p.m. and sleeps until about 5:30 a.m. He LOVES anything that Madelyn does and laughs immediately when she entertains him. We love his sweet and happy disposition. He goes for his 6 month check-up in a few days, so we're anxious to see just how big he is. He feels pretty heavy to us!

Madelyn's Birthday Party

Madelyn celebrated her 4th birthday with her friends by having a Gardening Party. Because one of her absolute favorite things to do is garden and plant seeds and flowers, she chose that as the theme. They had a great time!

Her birthday cake was made to look like dirt and grass with worms crawling through it. The "dirt" was crushed oreos, the "grass" was fruit strings, and gummi worms were scattered throughout. YUMMMM!

She loved when everyone sang Happy Birthday to her!

Everyone planted a flower in their own pot then planted seeds in Madelyn's garden. Their favorite part of it all was squirting the dirt with water from their spray bottles.
Sweet Camie showed her pretty pink flower after planting it in her pot.

Sweet Karson loved squirting the water!

They planted lots of different types of seeds, including corn, tomato, marigold, and cantalope! The seeds starting sprouting three days later. It will be interesting to see what we have growing there in the coming days!

Getting the dirt ready for the seeds.

Cuties Sydnie and Ava did a fantastic job planting!

Madelyn always loved the spray bottle the best, also!

Sweet Claire made sure that the seeds were well watered.
